*takes a deep breath and blows the dust off of Fashion Heaven*

If I have learned anything about fashion in SecondLife, its that you must wander to find the latest and greatest, truly good, not over-hyped “stuff” out there. It was in my recent adventures on the Avilion sims that I spied an adorable avatar, dressed as a fae, flutter by in a gorgeous gown. This is where my instincts kicked in and I employed my favorite method of discovery. “I love your dress – where did you get it?” Imagine my surprise when she responded with “I made it!”  And that is how I met Evangeline Miles of Evie’s Closet!

With many exciting things on the horizon for her line, I wanted to get the word out about Evie and her closet full of beautifully textured gowns, many themed perfectly for medieval and role play sims in SL. She recently opened a new location at Madison Place (has to be a great sim with that name, right?) and is about to release her first group freebie, Tya’s Spice, pictured below.   With just the right amount of flex and “poof,” this is a ball gown that is sure to make you feel like a princess.  Search “Evie’s Closet” in groups and you’ll find her in no time – ladies you do NOT want to miss this one!

I’m in love.

It started out innocently enough with a post from Ben Vanguard at SL Man, blogging this purple leather jacket by Iki Ikarus. Wow! A quick hop, skip and teleport later I was completely broke and in possession of several new-but-old-and-comfy-looking pieces from Dutch Touch, including the purple leather jacket. In fact, I loved it so much, I talked Phoenix into buying one too (Okay, so the truth is he bought mine for me, and then I made him buy himself one…we vowed to stay together through richer and poorer, and he’s richer while I’m poorer <grin>).

I found some amazing great stuff there, ladies. The whole build is fantastic, very warehouse-grunge. It kind of reminds me of FORM both in the style of the build and the style of the clothing, but there is lots more for girls at Dutch Touch. What I loved the most is this color of red that you don’t see very often in SL, a very deep crimson color that is the perfect contrast with the rest of the clothing which is mostly in shades of gray, brown and olive green.

I also found a sweet plaid sweater paired with an unbuttoned, button-down white shirt underneath, and 3/4 length dark denim cuffed shorts. Believe me, I didn’t buy everything, but I wanted to. Prices are a little bit up there, but the quality and layering/separates options are there. A mix of hand-drawn/photosource, the artistry is apparent here. Iki Ikarus has a lot to be proud of with this great collection!

It was a dark and gloomy night in the graveyard at October Country. They met at the gallows, and it was love at first sight when Lily found Frank hanging charmingly by the neck. Hanging out at the old lighthouse, they discussed all their nightmares and fears. They discovered they were MFEO (made for each other).

(Where does Herman come into this story? Apparently, Frank suffered PTSD from being attacked by a horde of angry villagers on All Hallow’s Eve. Lily found Frank too emo for her tastes, and left him when a better munster came along, his older brother, Herman. Lily and her man live in a spacious castle in the suburbs with their son, Eddie, niece, Marilyn, and Lily’s father, Grandpa).

Woohooo more costume goodness from A Touch of Ireland! It’s for gypsies, costume lovers, people who like celtic knot embroidery and people who enjoy poofy skirts. Oh, and people who play the tambourine. I think that just about covers it. Oh yes, it’s very lovely too and look at the colours!

The overall look of the outfit is beautiful, however for the sake of a fair review I have to say that the seams, prim accessories and shoes do leave a bit to be desired. If you’re particularly picky (like me) and delete, give away or consign outfits to your ’stuff never worn’ folder when you realise it’s not quite as good as it was in the picture, then this outfit will be a dissapointment. Of course you don’t have to wear the prim accessories and you could always grow excessively long underarm hair to cover the seams (like me).

Our week-long showcase of costumes from AliciaKay Kilara’s shop, A Touch of Ireland, continues tonight.  I have to admit that Serenity’s fun and creative coverage from last night is a tough act to follow.  The best thing about A Touch of Ireland is that you don’t necessarily need to wait forHalloween or a costume ball to take a visit and find some fabulous ensembles.  As her store name implies, you can also find a wide range of ethnicwear. 

When bosslady Madison told me that AliciaKay’s “Vampire Hearts” costume was right up my alley, she wasn’t kidding.  This blood-red gothic lolita outfit is sure to stop the most fearsome night creatures in their tracks.   This is a 7-piece set which includes everything below with the exception of the skin, hair and boots. 

I had also picked out “Evil Queen” which was inspired by Snow White.  Another full ensemble complete with shape and skin!  Because I just didn’t feel like “myself” in another shape I had plans to mod the prims (which thankfully ARE modifiable) to fit my own shape.  Unfortunately, I was unable to accomplish that in a timely manner; however you will see such a variety of AliciaKey Kilara’s work as each Fashion Angel shows off their picks, and ultimately in the feature article due in the next issue of the Metaverse Messenger.

Sometimes I take a bunch of pics, tuck ‘em safely into a folder…and then they never see the light of day again.  Because I have been a bad blogger lately (RL, yada, work, yada yada and…yada, yada, yada *wink wink* LOL), this was the case with Kirsten Corleone of Sexy In Pink as she had graciously supplied me with my choices from her store two months ago!

Kirsten is multi-talented and I have had the pleasure of working along side of her as a Top Model for the ASpiRE! agency.  She is also a live singer as well as a designer (which would be why I am talking about her, huh?).  Her store, Sexy In Pink, opened in April of this year and it was inspiring to watch a fellow model tap into her own creativity.  I look back over my 3 years in SL and see how far some designers have come, and I get excited to think about where the new designers of 2007 will be 3 years from now.

Now don’t let the name of the store fool you, there is much more than PINK to be found!  As you’ll see from the pics, Kirsten has been honing her photosourcing skills, which I know are not everybody’s cup o’ tea, however she can work the prims as well.  I am going to show you a small sampling of the variety of styles you can find at SIP.

Shredded Punk, shown below, was a favorite for me…and yes, it is partially pink; but it’s punk and that’s what sold me

Yeah yeah, so they have these sort of posts all the time, the whole ‘OMG this is so great, you have to buy it’ blah blah bollocks.

But this time it’s actually true… clever no?

Only you will ever see it, and no one will know you’re wearing it. I am, of course, talking about the Tiny Empires hud!

Now I’m really not the person to force all my friends/loved ones/random people into things that I think are awesome (except Tie, but that was clearly stated in the prenup) but Tiny Empires is the dogs, I don’t have the writery qualities to explain how good it is. You’ll just have to trust me. I first heard about it in Jelly’s blog. It’s a sort of hierachy game where you buy land, enslave people into your line, and grow in rank through the series of increasingly haughty sounding titles.

Right I’m pretty certain I’m losing your attention now so…. OOOoOo look CLOTHES!!

Ha! That gotcha. Anyways, so you grow and grow in rank until you become a mighty king or summit. There’s loads of cliqueing and drama for those that care for that, or you can play the game at a more leisurely pace.

As you can see in the pictures Tie and I have been taking the regality of it all rather to heart.

One other thing. The autumnal looking sim behind us is The October County. It’s unfinished as yet but it’s incredibly beautiful on a Straylight sort of scale, and yet spooky, they play old radio drama’s of a spooky nature on the audio at certain times and have events and so forth. I have to admit I haven’t been to an event yet so it may indeed be cack but probably worth a peek!

My name is QQ and I suffer from blogging binges.  After one of my most recent binges, I detoxed thanks to RL late nights keeping me busy, but the withdrawls took over and here I am back with a Heavenly Hash, complete with second helpings!

I have some things I have been sitting on, and here is one of them.  These feminine yet sexy tank tops by Yenta Semyorka of Y7 come in a pack of four featuring different shades of an oceanic horizon complete with a great cut on both the neckline and the hem with additional texture and wrinkle work making these fun, quality additions to any inventory.  Isabeaux leather pants by Launa Fauna of LF Fashions add a bit of “bad girl” flair especially with these gorgeous prim belts, respectively La Perle and Lushius, by Galea Yates of Fancy Schmancy.  Black leather Chelles wedge shoes by Skylar Pomeray of CSJ Designs are my chosen footwear here, and Onyx Leshelle of Maitreya is responsible for the no-nonsense Suya hair.  Wooden beaded jewelry finish the look off thanks to Caliah Lyon’s Kailena Sea and Shore necklace from her store Muse and the Coco-Nuts bracelet stack by Veronyka Heckroth of Frustrated Inc.

Next is a somewhat military chic hash that began with a dark green military jacket by Maria Gherardi of MG Fashion(available in other colors and on her discount wall!).  Maria had kindly passed me a couple of berets that I have been having fun with so I took a trip to her store and am definitely looking forward to seeing what she does in the future.

These boots, Industry boots, were such a fantastic surprise this morning provided by Accacia Brissot of Infernal.  Boots are both my weakness and the bane of my very SLexistence and I cringed as I put them on with the expectation that they would not “fit.”  I was right…they didn’t…BUT these were some of the most easily modifiable boots I have come across and in no time at all, and with barely any loss of the originally intended design, I was in boot heaven!  I dug out my old raggedy ass (that’s really what they are named!) stockings, garters and belts by Govindira Galatea of D3volution!, picked up the black leather glove set at Roslin Petion’s Tete a Pied, slightly tinted the brown scarf that comes with the Peepul outfit by June Dion of Bare Rose, along with a rope necklace I picked up for 50L at Kimmera Madison’s Tres Beau.  The belted plaid skirt is a piece from DoC Eldritch of DE Designs’ Valley Girl outfit and finally the hair is Onyx Leshelle’s latest, River.

While winding down after too long of a night at RL work I started playing around in Photoshop with lighting and effects and such.  If you’d like to have a look:

Number of minutes between the /artilleri/ update and the Kats Coat fatpack nestled snugly in my inventory? 2 (I had to wait for the vendor board to rez!)

 Number of days I’ve been wearing the Coat, unable to part with the gorgeous snuggliness? 2.

 This Heavenly Hash started with the coat in maroon, including fur cuffs and a fur collar for both chest and spine attach points, I was determined to put together a look that harmonized with the fantabulousness of the primwork and texturing.

 For the makeup, I chose a rich velvety lipstick to complement the deep color of the coat and long dramatic prim lashes.

My goal was a sophisticated look with a hint of a Parisian feel, so naturally a pretty sculpted beret as in order, topping an ultra short length, finger curl coif. The earring design hints at a fleur de lis with a dainty diamond solitaire set in the center.

Layered beneath the coat is a snug black turtleneck with a cozy prim collar, and leather gloves in crimson to keep my fingers toasty.

The skirt is a chocolate wool A line that fits great beneath the shape of the trench. Semi opaque tights and square toed pumps complete the look from tete a pied.
